# Update tag

PATCH https://api/public/v1/tags/{tag_id}
Content-Type: application/json

Edits the tag. **PATCH is partial**: send only the fields you want to change (present fields must not be blank). Answers **200** with the updated tag document.

**Body** (JSON, all optional):
- `name` (string, max 30) — unique among your organization's tags.
- `color` (string) — hex color, e.g. `#00FF00`.
- `order` (integer, min 1, max = number of tags) — new position in the list; the sibling tags are resequenced automatically.

Requires a full-access token. Tags of other organizations answer 404.
