# Malware Scanner settings

The Malware Scanner settings of one website: whether scanning is on, the global configuration it uses, which areas are scanned, its scan quota and the next scheduled scan. A website gets its settings when it is assigned to a global configuration, either with "Assign websites to a Malware Scanner global configuration" or through the default configuration when the website is created. Each website's settings have their own id, found in the `site_preset_malware_scan` include of "Retrieve a website" or in `meta.updated[].site_preset_malware_scan_id` of the assign request.
