# Add contact contact method

POST https://api.modulards.com/api/public/v1/contacts/{contact_id}/contact-methods
Content-Type: application/json

Stores the Contact's method, **replacing whichever method it already has, regardless of its channel** (a Contact keeps at most one method total). Answers **201** with the resource, no `Location` header (a method has no standalone show route).

**Body** (JSON):
- `channel` (string, required) - `email`|`whatsapp` for a Contact; a Contact never holds a conventional `phone`.
- `value` (string, required, max 255) - a valid email address when `channel` is `email`, a valid phone number otherwise.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Personal access token created in the Modular DS dashboard; read-only tokens can only call GET endpoints.
