# Backup settings

The backup settings of one website: whether its automatic backups are on, the global configuration it uses and which areas are copied. A website gets its settings when it is assigned to a global configuration, either with "Assign websites to a backup global configuration" or through the default configuration when the website is created. Each website's settings have their own id, found in the `site_preset_backup` include of "Retrieve a website" or in `meta.updated` of the assign request. Exclusions are managed in the dashboard.
